Marine Trail

Step into a world that exists only when the sea draws back

This guided walk follows the low tide through the island’s marine zones, where mangroves, sea grass meadows and shallow reef flats lie exposed and alive with creatures most visitors never get to see.

Your path begins in the quiet, tangled roots of the mangroves, a natural nursery for crabs, mudskippers and juvenile fish. It then opens onto soft sea grass beds, where hidden life shelters among the blades, and finally onto the reef flats, where rock pools hold a plethora of rare marine wildlife, from sea stars and sea cucumbers to anemones, molluscs and other tide-pool treasures. Our naturalist guide helps you spot, understand and gently observe each find, so you leave knowing how these fragile habitats connect and why they matter.

Slow, curious and wonderfully hands-off, this is the only marine activity on the island with no age barrier. Children, parents and grandparents can explore side by side, with no swimming or diving required.
